Stem Cell Related Patent Number US5922847

Title:Methods of purifying hematopoietic cells using an antibody to a stem cell factor receptor
Inventors:Broudy, Virginia C.; Seattle, WA, USA
Lin, Nancy; Seattle, WA, USA
Summary:Described herein are hematopoietic cells and monoclonal antibodies of stem cell factor receptors, methods and uses thereof. The invention relates to monoclonal antibodies specific for a cell receptor that is specific for human stem cell factor (hSCF). Further disclosed are methods of purifying the hematopoietic cells via a process of exposing the cells to an antibody or fragment which binds to an epitope on a receptor recognized by the hSCF, such that the epitope is recognized by the monoclonal antibody produced by a specific hybridoma cell line. Also provided are methods of separation, and properties of pharmaceutical compositions containing such monoclonal antibodies. Therapeutic applications in the treatment of leukemia and solid tumors are included. This invention represents a continuation of other applications filed by the same inventors under a different assignee.
Abstract:The present invention relates to monoclonal antibodies specific for a cell receptor specific for human stem cell factor (hSCF) as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing such monoclonal antibodies and uses of such monoclonal antibodies.
