Stem Cell Related Patent Number US6084066

Title:Polypetides that include conformation-constraining groups which flank a protein-protein interaction site
Inventors:Evans, Herbert J.; Richmond, VA, USA
Kini, R. Manjunatha; Singapore, India
Summary:This invention introduces peptide homologues and analogues with constrained conformation and with proline residues flanking the interaction site. Further disclosed are methods of producing such conformationally constrained polypeptides. Described herein are homologs and analogs of naturally-occurring stem cell factor polypeptides which contain one or more interaction sites of the natural counterpart which are flanked by conformation-constraining moieties, such as proline or cysteine. Claims of the invention include greater and more stable biological activity.
Abstract:Homologs and analogs of naturally-occurring stem cell factor polypeptides contain one or more interaction sites of the natural counterpart. The interaction sites are flanked by conformation-constraining moieties, such as proline or cysteine.
