Title:DNA encoding stem cell factor
Inventors:Zsebo, Krisztina M.; Thousand Oaks, CA, USA
Bosselman, Robert A.; Thousand Oaks, CA, USA
Suggs, Sidney V.; Newbury Park, CA, USA
Martin, Francis H.; Thousand Oaks, CA, USA
Summary:Described herein are nucleic acids encoding novel stem cell factors, methods and uses thereof. Disclosures of the invention include the oligonucleotides encoding the new stem cell factors, along with methods of their production. Further described is an isolated DNA sequence and methods of its use in securing expression in a procaryotic or eukaryotic host cell of a polypeptide product having a sufficiently duplicative amino acid sequence of that in the naturally-occurring non-human stem cell factor as to allow possession of the hematopoietic biological activity of the naturally occurring stem cell factor. Specific DNA sequences are provided, as are pharmaceutical compositions and therapeutic applications in the treatment of blood disorders. This invention represents a continuation of other applications filed by the same assignee and inventors.
Abstract:Novel stem cell factors, oligonucleotides encoding the same, and methods of production, are disclosed. Pharmaceutical compositions and methods of treating disorders involving blood cells are also disclosed.
